This was the easiest project I've ever done!
You will need:
1 pair of shoes you want to glitz up
Glitter - I used a large size glitter,
next time I will use a finer glitter
Aleene's (Crystal Clear Tacky Spray)
Crystal Clear Gloss spray (I used Krylon Brand)
Use the rubbing alcohol and the paper towel to clean the surface of the shoes you want to glitter. This way the glue will stick better to your shoes. Then use paper towel to fill the inside of your shoes so you don't glitter the insides of your shoes.
Use the masking tape to cover the bottom of your shoes. I tried to cover the bottoms with the tape and then trimming the tape. That was not easy, I ended up using a razer blade and cut my shoes. On the second shoe I tore off small pieces of masking tape and lined up the edge of the tape with the edge of the shoes. This was so much easier!
Take your shoes outside to spray one section at a time with the Aleene's Tacky Spray; I don't know how I ever lived without spray glue before.
Sprinkle the glitter on glue spray, repeat until all area's of your shoes are glittered. Let your shoes sit in a warm area so the glue will dry. After the glue is dry knock off any loose glitter and check for any areas that need some extra glitter. Spray the glue on the area needed and sprinkle more glitter and let dry very well.
It was very cold outside so I decided to put my shoes in a box and let them stay in my oven until the next day.
If you do this make sure you don't turn you oven on while your shoes are in there!
After you are totally happy with the coverage of glitter on your shoes that is when you will spray your shoes with the clear gloss.
You will need to spray the glitter several times to seal in the glitter, this way the glitter will not easily rub off.
Let your shoes dry for at least 24 hours before you wear your new sparkly glitter shoes.
Merry Christmas to all!
